Knowing How God Feels

by Andriana Cruz (Pronounced On-Dree-ON-uhh) lol 😊

In this world, I am no one special.  I am not important at all, except to a handful of friends and family.  I have never scaled Mount Everest, invented anything, or starred in motion pictures. I cannot sing well and, although I am a decent cook, I have no Michelin Stars to prove it.  I would consider myself of average height for a female, perhaps even on the shorter side.  I am average in the looks category as well.  If you passed me at an airport there would be nothing, in fact, to set me apart from anyone else.  However, to God Almighty, The Creator of Life, and The Existence of All Things, I am His Beloved.  I am set apart and desired above rubies and gold.  In His eyes I am precious.  He cares for me so deeply that He calls me His daughter, His Bride.  He craves time with me and my praise.  He waits patiently for me to come to Him, but His heart burns for me.  Some may call this mindset arrogant or prideful.  Actually, it is just the truth.  This is the truth that we must all come to in order to have the relationship we need to have with God.  This truth allows us to fully walk in all His benefits as He has intended.  This kind of relationship with God requires that we know (with certainty) that He feels this way about each one of us.  Understanding God’s intentionality toward us is required for us to FINALLY grasp the concept of faith.  “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen”  Hebrews 11:1

He wants us to walk in all the gifts that He has provided for us. His provision was made through the sacrifice of His son Jesus, on the cross and through the gift of the Holy Spirit.  We are to walk in health, abundance, forgiveness, peace, and joy.  Do we?  Do you?  These things require faith to access.  “Faith is the substance of things hoped for,” or more plainly, it is what makes things hoped for real.  How do we access that faith?  Well, we must first believe that He feels all the ways about us that I previously stated.  To have faith that your debts are paid in full, you must first believe the reasoning behind someone paying them in full.  Love is a pretty good reason.  Think, if you will for a second, that a man off the street walks up to you and says he would like to pay off all your debt.  Without me knowing you, I can tell you with one hundred percent accuracy that your response would be doubt, disbelief, and uncertainty.  Now picture in your mind the person who loves you the most in the whole world and, keep their love for you at the forefront of your thoughts.  Feel their smile, hugs, kisses, and encouraging words to you.  Now I want you to imagine this person won a two hundred-million-dollar lottery.  They then come to you and with tears of joy say, “I would like to pay off all your debt and take care of you for the rest of your life, and your children as well.”  Through your established relationship with this person, it would be easy to believe their intentions.  You have confidence in their love for you.

The benefits of God (that He already paved the way and paid the price for) were given freely to us by faith.  However, they can only be accessed by relationship and knowing what you have.  This is why the bible says “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33.   If we are busy seeking God and loving Him, then we are open to receive His love and His gifts.  We can clog the pipes of receiving with fear, doubt, unbelief, and anxiety.  Keep in mind, the opposite of faith is fear.  What casts out fear?  1 John 4:18 says, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear.”  Cast out any lie from Satan that God will fail you.  Cast out any thought that God does not care.  Cast out the falsehood that He does for others but not for you.  These thoughts create doubt, and we already know that doubt is a pipe clogger to blessing.  You might say, “But, I’m human and we have fear and doubt.”  No, no.  Satan has fear and doubt, and he would love to burden you with it.  We have been given the authority to overcome Satan.  We are to hold every thought captive.  We are told to resist the devil and he must flee.  This is the part where we labor to enter into rest.  What does it mean to labor to enter into that rest?  It means to be an active participant in that rest, we must guard our minds against the lies of the devil.  We do this while focusing on the fact that God loves us.  This gets easier the more time we set aside for God and to draw close to Him.
